It says its purpose is to plan, promote and carry out public celebrations and commemorations of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, and it names July 4, 2026. - The State Historical Society of Missouri. Its January 5, 2026 announcement lists a podcast, “Origins: A Reflection on Missouri at 250 & Beyond” (20 episodes starting at the end of January 2026), a lecture series from January through May 2026 with the Kinder Institute, a Missouri Civics Bee in August 2026 and July 4 programming at the Center for Missouri Studies in Columbia, all “throughout 2026.” SHSMO: Missouri celebrates the 250th.
