How we checked: each place’s own website for its address, hours and style words, and Visit KC’s barbecue list. All read on November 4, 2026. Hours, prices and dates change, so confirm with the place or organizer before you drive. Anything we could not check is marked Not Confirmed where it appears. Coordinates on the map come from OpenStreetMap searches of each printed address. We rank nothing: no source we used ranks these places, and we did not taste, rate or compare them. Nobody paid to be listed.
Use this list with the styles page: Kansas City places for burnt ends and sauce, St. Louis places for ribs and pork steaks, and the third group for the rest of the state. We have not been to these places and we rank nothing.
The Visit KC Barbecue List
Kansas City’s visitor bureau keeps a barbecue list (Visit KC; undated; read 2026-11-04 (page footer (c) 2026)). It names 105 places, on both sides of the state line. It is a tourism list, not an award or a ranking. 13 of the Missouri places below are on it and say so in their row. List last checked November 4, 2026.
Kansas City, Missouri Side

Which places are open on Sunday or Monday?
From the sites we read on November 4, 2026: closed Sunday are Bogart’s and Lutz BBQ, and LC’s lists no Sunday hours. Closed Monday are Bogart’s, Dalie’s and Roper’s (Roper’s is also closed Tuesday and Wednesday), and B.B.’s lists no Monday hours. Pappy’s is closed Tuesday. Most Kansas City places list all seven days.
