The NPS list heading says Missouri (36) but its Missouri section prints 38 entries, because the Goldenrod showboat (withdrawn 12/11/23) and USS Inaugural (withdrawn 08/07/01) designations were withdrawn; our list has the 36 active landmarks.

What a National Historic Landmark is

National Historic Landmarks are places the Secretary of the Interior designates as nationally significant in American history. The National Park Service runs the program. A landmark can be privately owned, so being on this list does not mean it is open; the Open to visitors column says what the owner’s or the National Park Service’s page states.
